Turbocharger wastegate vacuum sensor — replacement

Note: The turbocharger wastegate vacuum sensor is located near the charge air cooler on 2.0L models, and is mounted to the top of the intake manifold on 2.7L models.

2.0L models

1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands.

2. Working under the vehicle, remove the engine lower splash shield.

3. Disconnect the wastegate pressure sensor hose and the wastegate pressure sensor electrical connector

4. Remove the wastegate pressure sensor fastener then remove the wastegate pressure sensor from the bracket. Installation is the reverse of removal.

2.7L models

5. Remove the two nuts at the front of the engine cover. Lift up at the front and unhook the retainers at the rear of the cover to remove.

6. Locate the wastegate vacuum sensor on the top of the intake manifold (see illustra­ tion) and disconnect the electrical connector.

7. Remove the mounting bolt and remove the wastegate vacuum sensor.

8. Disconnect the vacuum line that runs to the wastegate (see illustration).

9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
